Publishing Giant Jiangxi Xinhua Printing Co. LTD acquires the first Kodak Prosper 5000 XL Press in China.

The publishing industry in China has been experiencing double digit growth. A report released by the General Administration of Press and Publication(GAPP) states that the output of digital publishing in China, in 2011, was up by 31.6 percent year-on-year.

To better serve this demand and offer a complete digital publishing solution to its customer base, publishing giant Jiangxi Xinhua Printing has acquired a Kodak Prosper 5000XL Press.

“We are very excited with this acquisition, says: Sun Liang, General Manager Jiangxi Xinhua Printing Co.  Not only are we the first in China to bring a Prosper 5000XL Press but this technology will allow us to lead the way in providing short run,on demand color books and magazines to China.”

Photo applications: New potential sales

In order to operate successfully in the modern printing industry which is influenced massively by digital developments, print shops have to develop their business model continuously and need to introduce innovative products – especially products which allow them to gain access to markets with strong growth and acceptable profit expectations.

The results of an InfoTrends survey – according to which the polled print shops achieved 40 to 50 percent higher profit margins on new products they offer – shows just how strong the correlation between new products and business growth actually is. Job print shops with electrophotographic digital printing equipment have the opportunity to enter one of the fastest growing markets: The market for special photographic printing products.
