We are thrilled to announce that printers from APAC and Africa have received recognition for their commitment to sustainable printing practices. The regional winners of the prestigious KODAK SONORA Plate Green Leaf Award include:
The New Straits Times Press (NSTP), Malaysia’s largest media group. With a considerable amount of capital invested in materials, NSTP has worked to improve materials management, reducing wastage of paper by over 24%. Investment in press system upgrades since 2012 have continued to increase in-house efficiency by reducing start up copies and printing registrations. NSTP also sends 100% of its paper waste to Malaysian Newsprint Industries (MNI) for recycling.
United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) mission is to promote the economic and social development of its member States. In addition to their use of SONORA Plates, the UNECA is using 100% recycled paper both for office use and conference documents and aims to incorporate ecologically sustainable building design across its operations. As part of its mission, the UNECA is a vocal advocate for sustainability, publishing books that support natural resource conservation and renewable energy.
